Sept Training Weekend
Sept 10-12, 2021
This will be an opportunity to train with others, to practice some race intensity, to do some open water swimming and transition practice, and (most importantly) to share some comradery and great food!
The schedule will be as follows:
3pm: Check-in available for overnight guests
4pm: Pre- ride course (optional)
6pm: TT begins
Following TT we reconvene and celebrate with pizza (and folks are welcome to BYOB of choice).
6am: Open water swim at the Carroll County 1000 acre lake (home of the Dixie Triathlon)
Followed by Bike and Run
*We will have a swim course marked, bike route options marked and available at Ride with GPS (distance options from 6 miles to as far as you wanna ride 😉), and a run course marked. As this is a training activity, it will be self supported with options to swing back by the parking lot for additional fluids and nutrition as needed. While we will have stand up paddle boarders for the swim, we do request that you bring a swim buoy for safety reasons. These can be purchased at Amazon - please reach out with any questions. Afterwards head back to Somerset for lunch.
*For folks that want a second night, the afternoon will be free time to siesta, enjoy the Somerset pool, curl up with a good book, or explore some of the trails on the property. Massage therapy is available, and swim video and analysis also available for additional cost.
6 pm: Dinner - also opportunity to discuss any training or racing questions anyone may have,
7 am: Long Bike Ride - distance to be determined (again routes available from short to long). Routes will likely be loops so can refuel back at Somerset as needed.
12pm: Brunch/lunch post-ride wrap up and departure.
Pricing is $150/night/per room - additional person (in the same room) add $25
*This includes room, food, and access to all Somerset amenities as well as all the training activities
*You are welcome to bring your own beverages of choice, we will supply water, coffee, almond/coconut milk, and coffee creamers
